The R&D function

consists of a team of 19 engineers and technicians with global responsibility to provide technical support, develop technology and keep expert level of knowledge within these core competences: Product construction, Project management, Electrical engineering, Polymer engineering, Analysis and test equipment

About the role

The Electrical engineer works in the R&D function, as a technical expert within electrical engineering.

In this role, you will work with electrical performance in cables, including signal transferring, tests and measurements. You will work in close cooperation with Product development to understand our customers’ needs and supply the best cable solution for their applications.

The daily work consists of both theoretical and practical tasks;

• participation in product development projects
• perform electrical measurements and link the results to physical properties and theory
• simulate electrical and physical properties to develop new products or improve existing products

We value learning and communication outside the company to gather ideas and solve problems. You may participate in technical workshops, international standardization committees and conferences and give presentations for client projects. You may also be in contact with be in contact with test facilities, suppliers, universities and research organisations in your path to find answers.

The electrical engineer will also give technical support to the global organisation and supervise and train technical staff globally within electrical engineering and measurements.

Requirements

• University diploma within Electrical engineering with BSc, MSc, or PhD degree (possibility to tailor the position for the applicant)

• Electrical calculations and simulations
• Experience within electrical tests and measurements
• Signal transmission and HF theory
• The effect of materials and geometry on electrical properties

Skills (about you)

• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal (Swedish and German are meritorious)

• Ability to communicate with all levels within the organisation, and our customers.
• Ability to make strategic decisions in the engineering work
• Ability to analyse complex data sets to and make conclusions and recommendations to meet specifications and functional requirements.
• Good teamwork and collaboration skills.

Placement
Sweden, preferably Söderfors (Factory), but optionally Upplands-Väsby (Head office) with traveling to SFS
